Missions

“He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.’”

Acts 1:7-8

“Jerusalem…Judea and Samaria…ends of the earth.” What are your three places of influence in “being a witness” of Jesus Christ? When Jesus said this to His disciples, He was telling them how the Gospel would go out to the world!

So the question for us at Genesis Church Spokane Valley is what are our three places of influence that we are “being a witness” for Jesus Christ?

First, our Jerusalem. Here at Genesis Church missions encompasses so much but we aim to keeping it simple. Jerusalem for us is right here among our church body. Therefore, our Jerusalem mission is service in ministries such as; children, youth, greeting, media, worship team, fellowship team, and more. Serving each other in Love builds and encourages this local Body of Christ (the church) as being witnesses for Him. Joining in on God’s Mission in a local body of Christ is a beautiful thing that brings overwhelming life to your faith and deepens your joy in the Lord.

Second, our Judea and Samaria. Here at Genesis Church this is how we are getting involved in our community. Can we encourage and come alongside the neighbors on our street? Are we being listening ears in times of crisis? Can we build a place where the home life thrives in Gospel Life, because of the life we have in Christ? Here you can get involved with the various events that are focused on being there for our community around the church.

Third, our ends of the earth. Here at Genesis Church some are called to being sent as full-time missionaries locally and globally and some are not. Both are wonderful and of equal importance. As a church, we participate currently in three mission trip opportunities for you to go and serve in.

As believers, Jesus says, “You WILL BE my witness” so the question for you is: Have you surrendered your desires to be apart of His desire? That is for “all to come and know Him.” How are you being a witness for Him right now? We would love to talk to you further about how you can be apart of what God is doing with Genesis Church.

future mission trips

slovania 2020

During the summer, we will go to the country of Slovenia. There we help run an English Camp. It is focused on discipleship by means of building relationships. As a team, we teach conversational English and lead a youth group in the evening for a full week. Our role and goal is to bridge the way to the local church.

MEXICO 2020

guatemala 2020

During the fall, as a church we go to Mexico. This trip’s focus is on work projects that local ministries need to get done. Hands and feet are needed to complete various tasks so that they can keep reaching and preaching the Gospel.
During the winter, the churches in our district join together and head to Guatemala. There we hand out clean water, run VBS, teach English, complete work projects, and encourage the local churches.
